An exhibition featuring recent work by WA-based Brett Todman, Vienna-based Veronika Riedl-Schlauss and sculptor Greg Johnston.
In this exhibition three artists will be investigating the space in which an idea morphs into a work of art. Painter Brett Todman has exhibited in Australia and Europe. His work consists of the space between 2D and 3D dimensions, translated into reality. Through his creative actions, something will materialize from that dimension into this world. That is, something that otherwise would have remained unmanifested.

Austrian-born textile artist/painter Veronika Riedl-Schlauss works from a European tradition. Veronika returned to Vienna in 2008 after living in Perth for several years. She has since embarked on a series of paintings that would fill the gap in her life left by her departure from Australia. Fascinated by the vivid colours of the Australian landscape compared to Europe, while working from images of Australian flora, Veronika created this series of paintings to suggest both the loneliness and the connection felt in the presence of nature. Veronika holds a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Fine Arts in Vienna and her work is held in private and public collections in Austria and central Europe.

WA sculptor Greg Johnston's figurative sculptures are always essentially about the beauty, the shape and the fine lines of the female form, in a stylised representation. His aim is to experiment and to play with reality, at the same time retaining beauty. Thus, observingthe meaning of the gap between what one sees and what one knows. Greg?s work is held in private collections in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, London and Copenhagen.

'This is My Distance… This is My Gap...' runs until 16th May 2010.
