Brett Hill - is originally from New Zealand and his first solo show was held at Oedipus Rex Gallery, Auckland in 1984. Now residing in Perth, Hill’s pushing and shoving of light, capture the drama between man and the world he is responsible for. This new body of paintings have Attitude with a capital A. Inspired by the cool and stylish detachment of those jazz and blues characters drawn from a world running on a line between Louisiana and Chicago. I wanted to create images that would carry some of that feeling: the heat of the night, the smoky air, the howl in the dark and their stories of love and betrayal, alcohol and ruin, jealousy and extortion. 

Ian Lilly – after a 35-year career in art education in Perth and the South West, Lilly retired in the year 2000 to become a full time artist. After majoring in Ceramic Sculpture in 1974, Lilly then applied himself to mastering a variety of carving techniques. Through stylization and abstraction, he achieves a fusion of line and form that results in a seamless continuity of evolving imagery from various viewpoints.  ‘ I have chosen to confine myself to carving natural materials of wood and stone as they best satisfy my desire to explore and capture the sensuality inherent in nature, especially of the female figure’
