JANN ROWLEY, GREG JOHNSTON, & DIANA WEBSTER
Opening Night, Friday 19th October 2007, 6.30 - 8.30pm
Elements is proud to present three West Australian artists, Jann Rowley, Greg Johnston and Diana Webster exhibiting from the 19th October.
Jann Rowley will be exhibiting three bodies of work, one landscape related, a whimsical series with domestic items and a more abstract series which find their inspiration in the meditative processes employed by the artist when creating works of art. Jann ensures she has a clear mind before embarking on any works and as a result, her paintings resonate with a sense of harmony, balance and peace.
Greg Johnston will be exhibiting a series of semi-abstracted sculptures that highlight the curvaceous and sensual nature of the female form. His sculptures are made out of clay and then 'cold cast' in bronze, a technique that the artist has been working with and perfecting for many years.
Diana Webster is an abstract painter who works with ideas of memories and associations. A constant in her work is the iconic use of fragmented seventies' wallpaper designs and air vents which are employed to evoke memories of domesticity and the passing of time. Her artworks are mesmerising and evoke many responses within the viewer.
Opening times for the gallery: Tue/Wed 12-5, Wed/Thu 10-6, Sat/Sun 11-4.
