4 PAINTERS
Geoffrey Wake, Ralph Stanton, Helen Forbes and Jules Sher

Opening Night Friday 1st June 2007, 6.30 - 8.30pm

Contributing to the West Australian Art Scene for 138 years in Total. Jules Sher, Helen Forbes, Ralph Stanton and Geoffrey Wake's artistic endeavours started in the 60s and all are now full-time, committed and passionate artists.

This is the second time the group is exhibiting together - and the second time they will be exhibiting under the title of 4 Painters.

Exploring the idea of the painted canvas remaining crucial to painterly expression and forming an intimate connection between the artist and the viewer these four present their stylistically different work to invoke a range of responses in the viewer.

Conceptual differences and use of different materials within the work enhance what will be an exploration in paint, texture and colour as the artists continue to push the boundaries of their art practice.

All of these artists have exhibited nationally and many have worked or exhibited internationally. Their works are featured in most of the major collections in Perth.
